Off-line

The producer will off line the footage. This is when he reviews all of the tapes and chooses the shots that will be used in the production. The producer will create a time code sheet. This will allow the producer to find the shots easily when the editing process begins.

The time code sheet will consist of the following:
  • Reel number or tape number
  • Description of the shot
  • Time code: Hours, Minutes, Seconds, Frames
  • Length of shot
